glass, copper, bronze and brass.
In early 2009 I entered a proposal for a hanging mobile through the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft. The specific guidelines were to "promote a sense of healing" incorporating "modern, clean lines". My immediate thought was of walking through the woods...leaves fluttering down in fall... peaceful. I ran with it.
Five months, 1255 glass leaves, 465 copper leaves and over 3 miles of copper wire later- there you have it. In total there are 2 sets of three branches. All are balanced and spin lazily from bronze rods. From each of the branches hang clusters of "mini mobiles"- made up of copper leaves wrapped in brass wire.
