Waters Window

36" X 36"

Leaded, Painted, Bevelled, Etched & Laminated Glass

I had access to a kiln and wanted to try to paint on glass- a process that takes powdered glass and essentially fuses it into the glass. It can't be scratched off or faded over time. I painted the spirals on circular pieces of glass to work with a spiral design on the bathroom rug. While definitely a far cry from the masters, it definitely brings the room together. The jewels (along the top right hand corner of the main picture and the middle circle seen below) were laminated with an optically clear adhesive- eliminating the use of lead as the framework in those areas. The jewels are fun in that they turn everything viewed outside upside down.
