Blayney Freeman Tree
32" x 32"
Fused, leaded glass.
Its a tree.
I wanted this to look as if you were laying on your back looking up at the leaves above you.
I was trying to hide the lead in the black tree limbs and branches. (the lead holds the pieces together) and I wanted the leaves to have a geometric quality but still be random-ish.
I learned that it takes a whole lot of time to be random.
The big leaves are of a metallic green fused on top of amber- they sparkle a bit when lit from the inside and just glow when lit from behind.
No two big leaves are alike. ("random" again).
The outside border lays out the plan- black glass fused to clear glass, the thin spaces of clear hinting at the grid work of the whole piece.
